Workspace

Workspace is the area in which work is performed. Each person's work style and work needs will be a bit different. When designing a workspace the following should be considered:

  • Accessible and safe for the user while performing tasks and for maintenance/cleaning personnel.
  • Meets locally regulated space-planning codes.
  • Supports work tasks adequately.
  • Supports ease of workflow.
  • Supports style of work intended.
  • Offers a high degree of arrangement flexibility without undue complexity and cost.
  • Wiring and cables should be securely fastened and held within horizontal or vertical ducting.
  • Wiring and cables should be long enough to allow the user to arrange the workspace and work surfaces optimally.
